ABOUT PCA

Our Mission & Vision

Promise Christian Academy, in partnership with the community, will guide students to become well-informed, imaginative and effective life-long learners of exemplary character. We are committed to a quality education based on active learning, academic excellence and biblical principles. We endeavor to develop students who will demonstrate Christian character, multicultural understanding, and servant leadership.

PCA students will receive a broad, Bible-based education that will enable them to meet the academic and spiritual challenges of our global society. We prepare our students to think and act biblically in all matters of life, to integrate faith and knowledge by the truth of God's Word and to be equipped for a lifetime of devotion to Christ. We partner with churches and parents to train children in the way they should go, so when they are old they will not turn from it (Proverbs 22:6).

Biblical Philosophy

God has placed the responsibility for educating children on the parents. Educating children without the cooperation of the home is unscriptural and endangers the mental, spiritual and social well being of those most precious to us - our children.

Proverbs declares, "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom..." Without reverence for God there is no foundation for true wisdom and thus, the whole person is not educated. Many Old Testament Scriptures shed light on training, teaching and educating our children (Deut. 6:7, 11:19; Psalm 111:10).

Children should be educated where scriptural principles are in evidence as a lifestyle. What is taught in the Christian School must be reinforced at breakfast, bedtime, social activities, and athletic competitions. Stated more precisely, Christian education should be experienced in all things, at all times.

God has called Promise Christian Academy to fill a gap in our children's education. This school will serve as your partner in the Christian education of your children. Attendance at this school is a privilege and not a right. The goal of the school is not to reform, but to carefully emphasize responsibility, personal integrity and good citizenship.

As faculty and staff of Promise Chrisitan Academy, we are committed to leading each student into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior; and to train the student to serve Christ in every area of life. We pledge ourselves to academic and moral excellence in a Christ-centered atmosphere. It is our prayer and purpose to do all things for the honor and glory of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Our History

Promise Christian Academy was established in September 2000 as a result of the vision of Rev. Nam Soo Kim, Senior Pastor of the Full Gospel New York Church, along with his ministerial leadership. Their desire was to establish a multi-ethnic educational organization that would minister to the academic and spiritual needs of children in the world.

The school opened with an enrollment of 43 student in Pre-K through 2nd Grade. We have grown to over 200 students in Pre-K through 8th Grade. Promise Christian Academy, formerly Full Gospel Christian School, was accredited by the Association of Christian Teachers and Schools (ACTS) in 2006, is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI) and is a recognized private school in the State of New York.
